Mr. Speaker, Ministers Valtonen and Tavio, who have moved onto their following responsibilities[note 1], and others present,
Huugo Wahalahti, a new member of the recently organized Youth Agenda 2030 group. I will keep my speech brief enough to convey to you the core message of our group.
We call on all decision-makers in particular to ensure that we young people have a place, support, and funding for the future. For example, the opinions and views of influential groups like ours [Youth Agenda] must be brought to the decision-making table.
Simply involving young people is not enough. Decisions proposed through our [our speeches] must also get the wind in their sails. Not only do we need opportunities for discussion, but we must also be taken seriously and our comments must be used to make more sustainable decisions.
We young people must also be given a share of the [future] power. We must have the right and the power to decide the direction of our own future. We hope that you ministers[note 1] at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will consider the potential of youth groups at the international level in decision-making.
Thank you.
Note 1: The time allocated for the discussion with ministers ran out before the floor was given.
